Meet Arturs Gavrilovs, Director of Operations for Adler Firestopping Ltd. and BCICA Board Member

Arturs Gavrilovs began his career in the insulation industry in 2009 as a firestop installer for Adler Firestopping Ltd. A year later, he transitioned to the insulation division, where he had the opportunity to work in various roles within the company. 

“Starting as a novice insulator, I gradually advanced to a journeyman position and eventually moved into management,” he says, “This progression allowed me to gain comprehensive experience across different aspects of the business.”

Feeling grateful for his exceptional colleagues, Gavrilovs finds these connections and the environment impact of insulation projects a constant source of motivation.

“The ability to contribute to projects that reduce environmental impact is both fulfilling and motivating,” he says. “Additionally, the dynamic nature of the industry, with its ongoing innovations and advancements, keeps the work engaging and provides continuous opportunities for professional growth.”

Adler Construction Services was incorporated in 1984 and is proud to celebrate 40 years in business this year. It specializes in mechanical insulation, firestopping, and fireproofing, operating in BC, Alberta, and Saskatchewan with a team of 70.”

“We have expanded our scope of services since our founding, but our roots remain firmly in insulation,” he says, “We continue to focus on providing insulation services for commercial, institutional, and residential projects. We take particular pride in our involvement in numerous hospital projects throughout Western Canada.”

Elevating Mechanical Insulation in BC

Gavrilovs joined the BCICA Board on a two-year term to contribute his expertise and experience to the advancement of the insulation and firestop industry within British Columbia. “I am particularly motivated by the opportunity to collaborate with industry leaders and to support the development of standards and best practices that enhance both quality and efficiency,” he says.

As a board member, he aims to achieve several objectives, including actively participating in the formulation of strategic initiatives that address industry challenges, advocating for the interests of BCICA members, and fostering innovation and growth within the industry. “By working together with fellow board members, I hope to drive positive change and help shape the future direction of the industry,” he says.

Driving Value at the BCICA

BCICA’s mission is to provide members with the most current industry information, create and maintain a standard of work that provides the best value for customers, and provide information and installation standards to specifiers and end users.

It provides significant value to its members through a range of services and initiatives. It offers a platform for networking and collaboration, facilitates access to industry-leading information and best practices, and plays a crucial role in advocating for industry standards and regulatory advancements.

“Additionally, BCICA’s resources help members stay informed about the latest developments and innovations in the mechanical insulation sector,” Gavrilovs says. “Looking ahead, I would like to see the BCICA enhance member engagement by offering greater support for member-driven initiatives. These improvements would further solidify the BCICA's role as a crucial resource and support system for its members.”
