Bradley Budden Speaks at ASHRAE BC Meeting

Bradley Budden, BCICA Executive Director

ASHRAE BC welcomed BCICA Executive Director Bradley Budden to its September meeting for a talk on designing pipe insulation systems for chilled water in BC. Mechanical Insulation has a long track record of providing long-term energy efficiency, emissions reductions, cost savings and safety benefits in commercial buildings, hospitals, schools, and government buildings.

Mechanical insulation is usually hidden behind walls or ceilings—out of sight, out of mind. Budden discussed the major mechanical insulation issues in the British Columbia market, easy steps engineers and specifiers can take to improve energy efficiency and reduce the carbon footprint, and ways to design to reduce/remove condensation and conserve energy. He also shared important information about the BCICA’s Quality Assurance Certification Inspections Program.
