BCICA Welcomes Cerco Cable
The BCICA would like to welcome its newest associate member Cerco Cable, a Canadian owned and operated company specializing in cables, electrical hardware, and fire safety solutions for active and passive fire protection. It was founded in 1978 in Montreal, and today its 50+ employees serve a broad customer base out of nation-wide distribution centres in Vancouver, Toronto, and Montreal.
Cerco Cable serves the mechanical insulation industry distributing products contractors use daily, such as heat trace, Metacaulk firestop products, and CL4 fire protection duct wrap and accessories.
“We aim to serve the market with our commitment to excellent customer service, competitive pricing, and next level technical support,” says Ian Sheldon, branch manager, Cerco Cable – Vancouver.
Ian has been in this industry for three years and enjoys the people and challenges. “Every day, I get to wake up and tackle life safety puzzles with some of the kindest, most committed and passionate people I have ever met,” he says. “This inspires me to be better every day.”
Cerco Cable joined the BCICA to learn more about the industry, market, and people. “Using this knowledge, I hope to make a real-world difference by making connections, helping critical projects get delivered safely, on time, and under budget by supplying the market quality products that break monopolies in the industry,” Ian says.
He would like to see the BCICA continue to provide the industry a place to connect, network, share best practices, and act as an ally in spec’ing in new and approved products/alternatives into the market.
“At Cerco Cable, we are a team of pirates, our clients being our treasures,” Ian says. “Our mission is to find treasure and never give it up.”
